Who and what is Lavender Pages?
Lavender Pages is a solidarity project for LGBTQIA+ prisoners run by a collective of queer, trans and gender non-conforming abolitionists. We send reading material written primarily by LGBTQIA+ authors to incarcerated peoples across the United Kingdom.
We run a subscription service sending books, zines & educational material written primarily by LGBTQIA+ authors four times a year free of charge. Unfortunately, we do not have capacity to fulfil personalised requested for specific books at this moment in time.
If you are an LGBTQIA+ incarcerated person and would like to sign up to our service, or know someone who is, contact us via email or write to our P.O. Box to receive a subscription form. We accept all regardless of charges or convictions.

We recognise and celebrate the important work and legacy of the now closed Books Beyond Bars UK and LGBT Books to Prisoners in the US and hope to inscribe our efforts in the lineage of their incredible work.
Why does it matter?
As the state continues its long history of targeting, over policing and criminalising queer, trans and gender non-conforming peoples, solidarity projects like ours, which specifically support LGBTQIA+ people in prison, are so important in the fight to resist state oppression.
LGBTQIA+ people can have a particularly hard time finding resources that meet their needs and wants. Our project seeks to shift some control back into the hands of incarcerated people by supporting the literacy, self-empowerment, and imagination of some of our most disenfranchised community members.
How to get involved?

If you are interested in coming to the book parties where we will be packing books to be sent to incarcerated people, keep an eye out on our Instagram page and subscribe to our newsletter. This is where we will be circulating any information regarding this.
We are funded entirely by donations, every penny donated goes towards the cost of postage & packaging. You can make a one-off or recurring donation through square
We do not accept donations from or work with anyone who has any links to the prison industrial complex and its expansion.
